In Aion, a popular MMORPG by NCSoft, the Elyos are the most popular race in game. Due to their prevalence, I have decided to put together an Aion Elyos Leveling guide so that players can get a head start in their leveling.
At any rate, since Elyos is so popular, before we get started I should say that you always want to get in a good instance. Click Menu, then Support, and then Change Channel. This will allow you to hop between exact copies of the same world, only that one player can only be in one channel at a time.
This way, if someone is competing with you for a quest or for monsters in the spot you want to be in, just change channels and avoid the competition entirely. This only lasts until level 20, so enjoy it while it lasts. Once you hit level 20, you should be on your feet and flying through a decent Aion Elyos leveling guide, such as the Kozen Aion Guide.
At any rate, for levels 1-10, you are in Poeta. As you are navigating the world, be sure to watch out for red dots on your minimap, which indicate aggressive monsters. Aggressive means the monster will attack you if you get close enough, regardless of whether or not you attack it.
There aren't many aggressive monsters in Poeta, but you should avoid running into one while you are fighting another monster. In Aion, monsters are pretty tough (unlike World of Warcraft), so be careful about carelessly wandering into a pack of aggressive monsters.
When leveling up, you will want to complete as many quests as possible. You can find quests by looking for NPCs (computer controlled characters) with a Teal Arrow over their head. A double-edged Teal arrow indicates a quest objective.
Once you are oriented in the world and complete the starter quests, head towards the Akarios Village. Once you are there, look for five different quests:
Uno's Ingredients
To Fish in Peace
Abandoned Goods
The Kerub Threat
Collecting Aria
These quests are all very easy and located in the general vicinity of the town. You will not need to travel far as you do these quests.
Be sure to constantly attack monsters (also known as "mobs") that you happen to pass by. You will need to do some killing in order to level up quickly, so be sure not to run without doing anything for too long. Rather than running back to turn in a quest, kill mobs that you pass on the way. This will help you level up much faster than if you avoid killing mobs as you quest.
By finishing the 5 quests above, you should be up to level 5. If you aren't up to level 5, you will want to kill monsters until you hit level 5 before progressing to the next area. Additionally, you should get your harvesting skill up to 10 before leaving this part of Poeta. You will need to collect Iron Ore for a later quest, so keep working on your gathering skill.
This ends today's part of the Aion Elyos Leveling Guide. I will post tomorrow about info on getting from level 6-10 and more general strategies you can use to level up faster than ever.
